Dr. Helen Grubisa
Dr. Helen Grubisa began her University education at McGill University, completing a Honours Bachelor of Science in Physiology degree in 1994. She then continued to Dental School, obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. During dental school, she completed an externship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and after graduation from Dentistry, Dr. Grubisa interned in a general practice residency at the Toronto General Hospital. Once she decided that Orthodontics was her passion, she moved to Edmonton to begin her orthodontic specialty training program at the University of Alberta. In 2002, she received her Masters of Science degree in Orthodontics and her Fellowship in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Currently, Dr. Grubisa is actively involved in the Canadian Association of Orthodontics, serving on the Board of Directors as Chair of the New and Younger Members Advisory Committee as well as the representative of the province of Ontario.
Dr. Grubisa has also been the recipient of numerous academic and clinical awards throughout both her dental and specialty orthodontic training. Dr. Grubisa has been a clinical instructor in Orthodontics and lecturer in Biochemistry and Physiology at the University of Alberta and is currently a Lecturer in Graduate Orthodontics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Grubisa has published articles on orthodontic bonding materials as well as pediatric migraine treatments.
Having her roots in France, Dr. Grubisa is bilingual and is happy to treat and speak to patients both in French and English. When not at the office, Dr. Grubisa enjoys cooking and the outdoors, including scuba diving, hiking, mountain biking and gardening. She and her husband Eric also enjoy traveling, motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.
Currently, Dr. Grubisa is an active member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Ontario Association of Orthodontists, and the Ontario Dental Association.
